Sheba is a playful and happy husky mix! She lives with her adopted sister Quinn, another husky mix and moved in with a cat 6 months ago! She has adapted great. Sheba loves off leash adventures and exploring places like the Oakland and Berkeley hills, point Isabel, Albany bulb, Cesar Chavez- anywhere she can romp and swim. She is cuddly and pretty chill around the house and used to apartment living. She gets about 3-4 walks per day including one longer romp.

Hi! I live with Molly (and a roommate) in a house by the lake with a fenced backyard. She is very sweet, sometimes anxious, and occasionally jumpy if she gets really excited. She enjoys long walks and fetch. I work fully remotely so am home a lot.

We adopted Rocky in January 2024. He’s a sweet pup who gets along well with people of all ages and most other dogs. We’re working on it with our vet and a SA specialist trainer but right now he can’t be left alone for any period of time.

We have a very sweet and well behaved cocker spaniel / golden retriever mix. We usually give her 2-3 walks per day and also have a back patio area that is enclosed where she loves to hang out when it’s nice outside.

My husband and I are empty nesters, with all kids out-of-State for schooling. They occasionally come home for school breaks, otherwise, it’s just me, my husband and Carlos at home. We have a good size fenced backyard where Carlos lounges in the sun, does his No. 1 business (usually doesn’t poop there), and hangs out with me when I do my gardening. We often make long trips, anywhere from 1 week to 2 months straight. Carlos is super chill, is well-mannered, and loves both dogs and people.

My name is Teri. I have 2 wonderful pups, Chacalat, a 9 year old, 60 lb male, and Coco, a 14 year old, 17 lb female. We live in the Oakland/Montclair Hills and have daily 2 1/4 mile walks in the neighborhood hills. I adore my pups who are both very friendly and, to be honest, very spoiled. We have lots of dog beds throughout the house, and Chacalat loves his dog toys. Coco had mouth cancer 3 years ago and had a complicated, successful surgery which rid her of cancer but also removed her front upper jaw and nose. The vet was outstanding and she is still cute and able to eat. Although both dogs are good with cats, I am careful with Coco and now keep her away from cats for fear that they could scratch her mouth or new nose. Chacalat has allergies which are under excellent control but he is on a limited food diet. Foxtails love my dogs’ hair so the pups have to avoid areas with foxtails.

Lola is a rescue dog. We adopted her when my son was 3. That was 11 years ago. She is an easy going pooch, loves cuddle and sleeping under cover in bed with you at night. HATES BEING CRATED. Gets along with all dogs and cats. Will do the sniff greet and then do her own thing. Low energy, sleeps a ton. No special needs other than cuddling at night.

I am Savannah and this is my dog, Hank! Hank lives in my studio apartment with me and my cat Gus. I am a teacher so spend much of my free time relaxing at home with the boys but also love to be active and be outside. Hank and I love to go on long walks and hikes in the area. Hi, there! My partner and I have wanted a dog for a long time, so welcoming Lupine into our family was a dream come true. We work most days in person (I'm a teacher) and Lupine usually goes to doggy daycare. However, we know Lupine likes to sleep close to others (especially when she is out of her crate), and with a few upcoming trips, we think it might be better for her to stay in a home instead of boarding. Hi! I am a NYC transplant, moving to Oakland over 10 years ago. Chula and I have had each other since she was 12 weeks old. She used to run and play in NYC's many parks, but in her older years, she's more mellow. Chula is deaf, but still has her eye sight, can still hop onto some sofas, and every once in a while, will want to run a few yards. I have looked after friends' dogs who are older -- administered pills and liquid meds, cleaned ears, washed eyes -- so am very comfortable with all the issues older dogs may experience.

Sugar and I love hiking every day on the Leona Canyon trail, which is basically our backyard! Sugar has alopecia on her back so her shedding is quite minimal; she wears sunscreen in the summer and shirts to stay warm when it's cold. Up-to-date on all vaccinations. She’s a sweet mellow older gal who loves to snuggle.

Hello, my name is Fiona and I'm dog mom to Bosco. Me, my husband and our two kids adopted him as a puppy from a rescue organization in Mexico. Since then we've been having lots of fun throwing balls, going on hikes and snuggling on the couch. Bosco is a medium-energy dog who loves to meet other dogs at the dog park and run around with them. He's learned where all the dog parks are nearby and will pull me towards them if I am trying going the other way. When he's home he likes to find the sunny patch on the ground to nap, follow us around, or look out the front window. Once we settle down for the evening he just wants to sleep near us or on us. He's okay being left alone, but because I work from home, he has someone around most of the time! We have a large fenced backyard where he runs around and chases squirrels unsuccessfully.

I work from home 3-4 days out of a week, so I’m able to stay with the dog most of the time. My dog is a little shy, he doesn’t get alone with other dogs when we go out, but has no problem with other dog in home.

Yoshi is a 4-year old Korean Village Dog and rescue from South Korea, who came to me in June of 2020. Having been rescued off of the streets, he has a very timid nature and yet has made so much progress in the past few years. We love going to the nearby dog parks and on hikes in the woods, and he has a gentle and playful nature with all other dogs. He is an absolute sweetheart and despite his occasional fearfulness of other new humans, he's a total goof when comfortable and the perfect cuddle buddy!

Shaytoon the international dog of mystery is highly active, super cuddly, listens very well to instructions in several languages including dog. A bit spoiled in a loving home. We’d love to meet local dog friends for play dates, hikes and to trade occasional evening dog sitting (not long term boarding).

Sprout is the dictionary definition of a golden retriever. He is sweet, goofy and a little love bug. When we’re out and about he loves to go on hikes, walks and long runs on the beach, and when we get home he becomes the perfect snuggle buddy. He’s kind and curious and loves everyone he meets. His biggest character flaw is that he’s obsessed with food (Apple doesn’t fall far) and he’ll sneak a snack any chance he can get (pizza, your coffee, trash on the street? YUM). I'm Luisa, and Oakland-based dog-owner! Yuca and I live a somewhat active life — we go up to the hills ~2/week, the occassional dog park, play or do training drills in the back yard, and go on long walks around the neighborhood. Yuca is 3 years old and has some fun, teenage boy energy. He's playful, energetic, very social, and generally well-behaved. At home he mostly naps or watches the world go by. He's great with kids and other dogs, and can be left alone for 6-7 hours.

Calcifer loves other pups and goes to daycare almost daily. I can’t afford to get another pup, but calcy would love to have a best friend! I am a doctoral student that has fostered dogs since I was 11. I have been referred to by friends as a “dog whisperer” and love taking the pups to the dog park. He's not Super-cuddly, but once he knows you, he will come up and sit near you and let you pet him. Benji is an energetic puppy who is almost a year old, loves playing fetch and wrestling with other dogs - though, if others ignore his attempts at play, he will give up and happily with his toys instead. We call Benji the “loud friend”, when he is excited and happy, he is very vocal. About us: we live in North Oakland and are both dog people! We grew up with family dogs, have fostered with Muttville, and adopted a senior dog (who has since passed) before we adopted Benji. On weekdays we mostly work from home, and our breaks in the day is playing fetch in the yard. On weekends you can find us at various dog parks or short hikes in the area.

Timber is an active, playful dog who is a popular fun fellow! He seeks affection from all humans and likes being around other dogs and children. He used to have escape artist tendencies but that has greatly improved since I adopted him in January 2022. He enjoys playing and exploring in local neighborhoods, parks, creeks, and waterways. Timber is known at our dog daycare (Furball Fitness) as mellow and eager to please. He gladly accepts fur massages and tummy rubs. He does have a strong prey drive towards squirrels, rodents and waterfowl. Gets along well with other dogs, especially dogs of equal or smaller size, spayed males, and all females.

"Smells rule the world!" according to Bernie the Doodle (not a Bernedoodle). He loves on-leash walks, fetch in the yard, stealing smelly socks, smooth car rides and dogs. Small naps throughout the day and cuddling with his stuffed animals are other things he enjoys daily. He is a bit people shy initially and prefers to have his personal space until he's comfortable. We are lucky to have Bernie as our fur baby. We always try take him on our West Coast roadtrips as he's an excellent travel companion. However, we can't fly him back East or abroad, so we'd very much like to find other pet families to exchange pet sitting time for long-distance trips and the occasional date night out on the town. Spice is an adorable, friendly, sweet Goldendoodle who loves to be pet. At 10 years old and 40 lb people still think she is a puppy, which is understandable because she looks like and has the energy of one. Starting with Puppy Head Start to Obedience to Dog Agility, she is house broken, well trained and doesn't shed. She is more people oriented and selective in playing with other dogs as she is submissive and crawls between my legs when intimidated.

Hi! Hoping someone could look after Jasper for a week at the end of July-early August, and happy to host (one dog that does well with small dogs would be best). I live in a small place with a yard where Jasper enjoys sunbathing and inspecting for new smells. Jasper loves people and is pretty indifferent to dogs (he doesn't know how to play). The best match would be a dog that is relatively low energy and won't try to play with him but would like going on companionable walks or snuggling. He is great on the leash.

Hi! Gracie is an 11yr old mutt - mainly australian cattle dog. I live in an apartment with an off leash dogrun attached. I work from home. I take her down to run around 2-3 times each day. And take her with me on car runs. But she is fine being left alone as well. She is very affectionate with people, and loves being with most other dogs, is better with dogs closer to her size. She does have leash aggression, and needs 1min careful introduction to new dogs. Great off leash and great recall. Does need a daily walk/runaround. Can alert us to mailmen, but otherwise pretty quiet. I don't think she will be good with cats. She is naturally a medium/heavy shedder, but I groom her most days so that she is a minimal/medium shedder.

Our dog Hank is a sweet hound mix boy we rescued in Feb of 2023. He is pretty mellow for a young guy and is pretty easy to care for. We take him on a few walks a day, and have fun in the yard as well. We have a dog door. He LOVES balls and trips to Point Isabel. He is allowed on couches and beds - as would any of your dogs that would visit. We work from home mostly, but do go out some times. Dogs that visit need to be able to be left alone for several hours and can't be cat aggressive.

Mocha loves playing with other dogs, enjoys hanging out with people and is well known for plopping down in front of neighbors and asking for belly rubs haha. Mocha hangs out in the house during the day watching her pawrents work. With another dog around she pretty much wants to play all day until her playmate gets tired. We generally take her on one long walk a day and then always some sort of weekend adventure (beach, hiking, walks around Lake Merritt). At night she likes cuddling with us on the couch on her blanket otherwise she's not allowed on the furniture without permission. However, whatever hosts prefer is fine! Mocha is used to sleeping in her crate at night. One of us is always working from home so there is generally someone at home with the pup. However, she's OK with us leaving and we haven't had issues with separation anxiety. She loves to go with you everywhere! We bring her to restaurants all the time and have gone on numerous roadtrips. She's quite the adventure dog and has already impressed us with her love of rock climbing. We are outdoorsy, active and very clean pawrents! Mocha is about 19 months old and has plenty of puppy play energy so older dogs who don't like to play may not like her. If you drop food on the ground, she will likely try to eat it unless you say "leave it." She's been around plenty of kids and has no issues. She is used to child gates as well and will stay where you want her to.

We’re a family of 4. My husband and I both work in tech, we have an 18 month old goldendoodle named Cashew and a 10 month old son. We live in a back house with a fenced in backyard. We regularly go on trail walks and to the park to throw the ball. Cashew is a gentle giant (65 lbs) and very friendly, but is scared of dominant dogs. Since we have an active infant who crawls all over, we are only willing to take non-herding breeds who are good with kids.

Meatball is a 3 year old lab rescue who loves curling up with you and rolling over for belly rubs. He is house trained, crate trained and usually naps on his dog bed during the day or when we're out. He is medium energy, and loves playing fetch and going on hikes off leash. However, when we don't have time to take him on very long walks or hikes he remains very chill at home. He doesn't nuisance chew or bark, but he will alert us if someone is at the door. He has stayed with various sized dogs in their homes without an issue, but he does take some time getting use to them. He generally doesn't want to play with dogs and leaves them alone, and is more interested in humans. For that reason, he doesn't love dog parks and would rather go on an off leash hike where he can say hi to other dogs then go on his merry way exploring the trails. He does guard his food/water bowl so best to feed dogs separately. We don't have any children but he has met kids from babies to toddlers to older kids on hikes and has been friendly but has not been exposed to them for a long period of time. Because of his size, it'll probably be best for him to be around older kids. He loves chasing cats so a house without cats is likely idea unless the cats are outdoors.

Hi! I'm Davis! We're in North Oakland and I have a hybrid work schedule. Elton is potty trained, crate trained, and eats fresh food mixed with kibble. He's almost 2 years old. He is nice to all dogs and humans, but is still learning to cool it with his playfulness and also reading social cues from other doggies that do not want to play with a large dog. We're looking for doggy play dates and also considering getting another dog, so if play dates go well, we are open to hosting for short periods to see how he would like a doggy friend!

We live in the East Oakland area with our 2 dogs; Cannoli (4yrs) and Biscotti (16mos). Both are rescues from Taiwan and S. Korea, respectively. We have a huge backyard with a doggie door - so the dogs come and go as they please. We also have a great open space/off-leash area up the hill from our home that we take our dogs to daily. Our pups seemingly own our home (we’re just their caretakers and guests!) and are welcome on the couches and beds! Happy to help out others when we are able to!

We live in Rockridge and have an almost two year old 40 lb. goldendoodle. He's very sweet and great with kids and other dogs. Happy to meet up for playdates and to host similar dogs!

I have a 2.5 year old cattle dog/pitt bull named Archer. Archer is a goof ball and there's never a dull moment with him around. He's very friendly, fun loving, energetic, and affectionate. He'll probably want to cuddle up next to you anytime you're hanging out. He gets let out 2 times a day for potty breaks plus a daily walk. He's gone to doggy daycare since he was a puppy and tends to be the submissive one. He gets overly excited about other dogs on leash, which creates some occasional leash frustration (not aggression) so we avoid other dogs on walks. He sleeps in a crate and we allow him on furniture with permission, but he knows "off" if that's not your thing. We are located in Oakland and would love to exchange dog sitting since Archer is very social and loves having a buddy around!

Hi Caramel is a 18month, fixed, 45 lb F1 goldendoodle. He is very outgoing, loves people and other dogs, also gets along with cats. We live in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment, and there is a big lawn right under my apartment building where dogs can run and play. Caramel loves to meet new friend, and I mostly work from home (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Caramel will go to my local daycare when I go to office, he is never left home alone). I’d happy to board your fur babies Thursday to Mondays when I’m working from home.

Hi! we’re Julia and Ruffles! We live in a 1000 sqft apartment in Ivy Hill. I’m a single dog mom who works full time outside the home, so taking care of Ruffles requires some creativity! But I work hard so he can have a better life, so I’m happy to do it! I would love to find some friends in the community who might be willing to let Ruffles hang out at their house during the weekday sometimes! I would be more than happy to return the favor by hosting on weekends. Ruffles is a 23 pound, non shedding, mini golden doodle. He’s a sweet boy who loves playing and cuddling but is still building his confidence. His vices are that he can sometimes be a little feisty and he loves jumping on people, but we’re working on it! He is crate trained and loves playing at the park.

Hello! My name is Elise and my husband our dog Joey and our cat live in Oakland. Joey(girl) is a 2yo wheaten terrier poodle (Whoodle). She is non shedding and fixed. Joey is a sweet dog, who in pack terms is a submissive. She thrives with other dogs 1:1. She is great with cats and kids. She’s a bit timid so will frequently be an observer in a new home. We work from home and usually do a two mile walk to get Joeys day to day energy out. She does love to play though when a dog is around!

I am a 51 professional who lives in Oakland CA with my spouse, who is a psychotherapist in Oakland. In addition to Java Bones, we have two sweet cats (3 and 5 years old) who are super mellow. We live in a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment with a balcony, but no yard. We keep a grass pad on the balcony for late night outings, but otherwise we do outings in the neighborhood, Oakland hills, etc. I am also open to hosting at the person's house if I am able to bring Java.

Hi all, I'm a Mom of 4 - a 5.5 yr old son, 12 and 14 yr old girls and a 1.75 olf GoldenDoodle. Ollie is lovely. Easy, and loves to be around people - go to off leash parks and other non agressive dogs. He is not crate trained, but sleeps very soundly through night at end of beds or next to bed. We are open to hosting friends for him when we are in town and would love for him to find a family or person who loves to have him when we travel and cant take him - or want to enjoy him for outings when we are at the soccer field all day.

Peixe is a very friendly, social, active, and snuggly girl. She is down for however you want to spend time, outdoors or chilling inside.

We are a one pup home in the East bay. I am able to host another well behaved pup who gets along well with other pups, walks well on leash, and is not an incessant barker since we live in an apartment community. I am healing from ankle surgery and unable to drive for the next couple months, so you’d have to be willing to drop your pup off to me and if you’re keeping Goldie I’d make arrangements to bring her to you. We have a great outdoor space and ample walking trails nearby to get outdoors and play.

I am the Pawrent of a 9 pound (very) mini Labradoodle called Laffy. Laffy has two loves in life: fetch and (oddly enough), dental chews. I live in Rockridge, Oakland.

Hi there! We’re emily and Enzo! We live in Oakland with our best friends who have two kids (9 and 7) and a small (10lb havapoo). We have a large fenced in yard. Enzo is 20 months and 60 lbs and he’s a non-shedding bernedoodle. He’s super friendly with people and dogs and is very confident. He loves snuggles and hugs, food, dog parks, walks or playing fetch (although he’s not super ball obsessed). I’ve done a lot of training with him and frequently take him off leash. He’s good in the car but not great with cats. His toxic trait is counter surfing, so food needs to be put away when he’s unsupervised. He is crate trained and potty trained although he doesn’t sleep in his crate anymore- he generally sleeps in his bed or on the floor. I work combo from home and have to go visit clients so I need to be able to host a dog that can be left alone for several hours at a time. My roommate does work from home though, so there’s usually someone else here :)

I adopted her when she retired from being a show dog and I'm so lucky. I live in Oakland where I mostly work remote and in my free time enjoy walks with Fiona, traveling, backpacking, and lots of cooking. I've always had animals from a young age and just love being around them.

I am a dog owner back home at my parents place NJ of a cute mini golden doodle who is 2 years old. I moved to CA and love dog-sitting and/or dog-walking since I feel terrible bringing my pup from NJ to CA every couple of months. I have Tayden in CA with me, he's 30 lbs, golden doodle, and a covid baby. I would love to board your pet (preferably one that does not shed a lot as I have minor allergies). I love going on walks, runs, and having some cuddle time with pups.

Waffles is only able to be left alone for maybe a max 3 hours. We don’t leave him home alone often because i wfh. We live in a small 1 bedroom apartment so we could only accommodate dogs the same size or smaller. I do work from home so I would be around and able to watch your pup all day. We would prefer a non-shedding and hypoallergenic dog as we do have allergies. Dog must be neutered/spayed, friendly with other dogs/humans, potty and crate trained. we have a mini schnauzer who is young but overall quite mellow and loves other dogs. We both work in medicine and love to travel. I have allergies and can only host dogs that shed very minimally, preferably smaller given our tiny house, but we have a good yard.

Bodhi is a Puppy/adolescent cavapoo. He is very sweet, still has some puppy energy, is house trained and knows basic obedience. He loves other dogs. Being a pandemic puppy with a WFH mom, he doesn’t like being left alone although I’m working on getting him to longer periods. I have a house with a fenced in yard in Oakland. I am interested in play dates. I occasionally have to go into work for the day or want to do something that requires being away longer than I’ve worked him up to. Eventually would be great to find someone who can watch him during short trips, but also know not everyone is up to sit for a puppy. And I’m open to watching your dog in return!
