Lilo has been with us since she was 9 months old. She's super sweet and pretty energetic but has calmed down a lot in the last year. She is crate-trained, though we don't need to crate her anymore. She's pretty good on a leash, good at not jumping on people who come in the house, but she does get excited to see people! She loves playing with other dogs, though she's a bit shy when first meeting new pups. We have a 6 year old granddaughter who Lilo loves. She's got a high prey drive, so probably better to avoid homes with cats, bunnies, or other small animals. She is not allowed on furniture or the bed at home.

My name is Aria and this is my 1.5 year old pocket pittie, Winnie! Welcome to the Itty Bitty Pittie Committee, we’re all friends here! Winnie and I have been together since November 2023, when I adopted her from HRA here in DC. Since then, my travel requirements have been increasing and I’m looking to set up a mutual exchange with other dog owners to watch after each others’ fur babies! Sadie is super gentle former hunting dog. She currently is working through some separation anxiety. She was a working dog, so isn’t always sure how to play, but will typically snooze while I work when I work from home.

Hi there! My husband and I have our mini-goldendoodle Babka. Babka is very easy going, and gets along with all dogs and humans! She’s very cuddly and playful. She doesn’t need much exercise. She is super friendly with others dogs and loves having guests over.

Hi, there! My name is Mira, and my dog's name is Kai and we recently moved to DC! When the human isn't working, we're usually outside exploring state parks and camping! Kai loves other dogs, being in the water, chasing tennis balls, and rolling in the grass. He's a sleepy, goofy 75 pound Silver Lab who came into my life because he failed duck hunting training and was put up for adoption! Lucky for the ducks and for me! Kai does well with other dogs, kids, and adults. He is NOT a fan of cats though. Or rats. We are slowly adjusting to city life. 😅

We are a very active retired couple living on Capitol Hill. We had dogs (mainly large adopted mix breeds) for over 20 years. Our last dog was Mikey who left us, unexpectedly, at the age of 12, three years ago. Our daughter lives in Spain now and we travel there a lot, thus made a difficult decision not not have dogs any more. When we are home in DC, we babysit the dog of our dear friends. We miss having a dog a lot, especially taking walks through the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Since we always had large dogs, we walked them twice a day ( one hour each walk) in any weather. ( tired dog is a happy dog!). We would like to try out this new, much welcomed, neighborhood initiative to help the neighbors. We love to walk and love spending time with four legged friends

We’re a family of four in CCDC with two kids and two adults who are now required to be in the office three days a week 🫠 — not great for Nala pup. So far, we’ve figured it out but we are always happy to meet more playmates for Nala. She is gentle, playful, friendly and gets along well with other pups. She’s also a great napper, which balances out her play time.

In an obviously, completely unbiased opinion, our Stevie is the cutest 5 year-old baby ever. She LOVES people and is so happy to hang out on your lap/as close as you’ll allow her all day long. She also loves to be outside (this is a favorite buzz word of hers) and hunt for city rats and mark every tree along the way. We are still working on commands and training; currently, she is really good at sitting for treats. She is housebroken. Though I have only recently become a first-time dog parent myself, I have cared for neighbors' and family's pets for many, many years! My goal is to build both your and your pet's trust and keep them in their routine that you've set for them. Their safety and comfort is my top priority.

Teddy is our fun loving cavapoo who joins us on most of our weekend and travel adventures but sometimes it’s impossible so glad to connect here with others and hopefully be able to do swaps every once in a while! He also has been really into meeting other pups lately as a COVID dog so glad to have him find a friend or two!

Hi! We are a family of five, including Cosmo. My kids, ages 7 and 9, adore him, and my husband, who was reluctant to get a dog, is totally smitten. I always knew I wanted a dog with our family, and I feel like we won the pup lottery. Cosmo is a rescue pup, and he is incredibly well socialized. Our dog sitters tell us that he brings out the best in their dogs, even those who don’t like other dogs. He’s intelligent and responsive to training, and so affectionate. I use positive training with treats and he has come a long way since we adopted him at 4 months. He knows the basics, plus more. Everyone who spends time with him loves him, so we feel pretty lucky.

Cooper is a beagle mix and may be mixed with something larger as he sheds a lot certain times of the year and is around 45 pounds. He loves other dogs and has energy for adventures at about 2 years old. He is a huge cuddle bug and rarely barks. No socks are safe from this sock thief.

Hi there! I’m a young professional living in a 1 bedroom in DC. I work entirely from home but need to board my dog once in a while for weekend trips. Appa is a Jack Russell Terrier, housebroken and very well behaved (we’ve worked a lot on his training). He’s also able to stay in a crate for extended periods of time and hang out with other dogs. He’s extremely friendly although sometimes gets a bit overexcited.

Hello! Raoul is a sweet and energetic 2 year old mix. He chills during the day while his dad works from home. He is crate trained when we go out. Raoul is very popular at the local dog park! He loves to run and fetch. He loves his cat sister and wishes she would play with him but knows she has sharp claws! He still gives her kisses when she’s in a good mood though. He loves chewing on his chew toys but is respectful of other items. He is eager to please.

Rigby is the sweetest bundle of ENERGY. He is nearly 2 and loves dogs and people and just about everything. He has epilepsy, but is doing great!

Lambeau is a 16 lb love bug. She’ll take some pets over a snack everytime! She plays well with other dogs and loves all people. She’s potty trained and also great went left alone. Her favorite game is fetch and she loves hikes.

I’ve had dogs non-stop for more than 30 years now and I can’t imagine living without at least one. I’ve usually had two. Prior to getting Halle, my current dog, who’s a border collie mix, I always had purebred golden retrievers that I got as puppies. I love the look and personality of the breed; they’re totally lovable and completely devoted. But it just seemed that there were a lot of dogs out there available through rescue organizations that really needed a home and a chance for a good life, so when it was time for another puppy, I went the rescue route and I couldn’t be happier with Halle. She’s not as fond of car rides as my goldens were, but she’s every bit as sweet and lovable (and she’s much easier to walk on lead).

Kris is a very playful dog that loves to wrestle, run, and be chased! If he’s by himself he will LOVE playing fetch, but gets a little feisty when another dog tries to take his toys. After a good bout of play he will curl into a ball and sleep near you, happily content to dream of chasing squirrels. The humans (Max and Sara) love dogs and are very good about talking walks, playing, and also making sure your dog gets time to chill. All the playing and snuggles for your dog and ours!

My name is Ameera and Clara is my best friend. Clara can be very sneaky; she'll do anything for a quick snack. She is very playful, and she is house trained. As much as she likes spending time with me, she won't hesitate to get her alone time in her cage. Shes a big napper and she's great with kids. She is very weary of other dogs, so dog parks are a big no-go.

We prefer a family that has a fenced in yard in Northern Virginia as I don't know that they'll get walked an exercised like we do.

Me? A working mom who uses her paycheck to subsidize her dog’s lavish lifestyle of walks and walkers… toys galore… food… and sleeping all day. The pup? Adopted from a rescue from a kill shelter in July 2022. A mutt mix of husky malamute chow staffy boxer terrier and chihuahua. Trained and has continual behavioral training .. a working dog who I get to at least stop to think before she does something for a pay off. A 75 lb dog who thinks she’s a lap dog. Loves people wants to play and be loved… has energy. Happy to walk or run for miles and also just chill near you and play. Loves dogs not so much cats. Prey instinct to chase squirrels and birds but up close doesn’t know what do to with them. Exhume rant but backs off when other dogs out her in her place when they don’t want to play. Super smart knows her commands and crate and house trained. Learns fast. Only food is kibble and specific snacks.. and apples and carrots and watermelon. She wants human food but has never tried any and won’t if I have a say in it!

I’m a young professional who loves my pup but travels fairly frequently. I’m also a 5 star rated sitter on Rover. Petunia is an energetic, playful, and extremely friendly pit mix rescue who absolutely loves butt scratches, romping with other dogs, and cuddles.

Tika is a 6 year old mutt who looks like a small (30lb) lab. She's got puppy energy outside but very calm and quiet inside. She likes other dogs, but doesn't love if they invade her personal space. She loves to chase smaller dogs but takes some time to warm up to play/wrestle. She is scared of really large dogs and not a fan of puppies who don't respect space. Will do anything for treats but can resource guard food/treats. Very easy to take care of and can be home alone for up to 10 hours if needed. Beware of squirrels, cats, and rabbits. Tika and I live in a spacious 1BR apartment near the Capitol. I work from home 3-4 days per week, but generally active so your pup can expect good walks and play time but will likely be home alone at least a couple of hours each day.

Coco is a very sweet Wheaton colored Scottie ❤️. She loves walkies, but they tend to be kinda slow as she has a big snoot and needs to smell every thing. Scotties can be somewhat aloof, and Coco definitely is- she is fine with other dogs and cats - but prefers to be left alone. I love to play with pups and give them loves ( so it can be torture respecting coco's preferences).I work in DC and wfh 2 days a week- I have a pet walker for the others days. Neither Coco or I do especially well with pups who Bark to hear themselves Bark. Coco eats kibble, loves snackies including carrots, apples, blueberries and green beans. I am only available on weekends- and sold my car so would need to be close to mass transit. We live in NW DC, Massachusetts and Wisconsin- which is a great neighborhood to walk in.

Hi! My name is Caroline and my dog’s name is Tucker! He is a 1.5 year old cockapoo (hypoallergenic). He LOVES other dogs! My boyfriend works from home, so someone will always be home with the pups, and Tucker will love to have a playmate. Tucker is fully house trained but is not the happiest in a crate (he can do it if he needs to). He normally sleeps with us or in a closed room like the bathroom or bedroom.
