I'm so excited to be on this app and hope we find a pooch who's a good match! I'm Melanie, a resident of Aptos for 27 years and Kona's (rescued/renamed) family for the last 5 years. I live a stone's throw from the beach and prefer to take Kona there instead of dog parks since I don't have a yard and she loves the freedom to run. We enjoy traveling, but sometimes Kona prefers to stay home as some travel can be exhausting, and let's be honest... home is always best. Kona is a bundle of energy, self-entertains with her toys, and gets zoomies on the daily! She's an amazing guard dog and always on alert to strangers. She can be a bit needy when it comes to cuddles, but I attribute that to her prior abandonment and lack of affection. My working from home, I'm certain, hasn't helped matters 🤷‍♀️ but, I don't mind the company or cuddles. Contact us to see if we're a good match. Prefer to swap neighborhood pooches.

Hello! We are fellow dog lovers over here! Nikita is a super sweet and friendly dog who loves humans and is good with kids and cats. He absolutely loves the beach and has excelled recall. He can be a bit challenging at the dog park recently even though I have socialized him his whole life, I think the break in visiting dog parks during the pandemic really messed with him. Now he is ok at dog parks but can get overbearing and mildly aggressive to submissive dogs. Walks and visits to the beach may be best bet considering this. He is trained however and responds well to verbal commands. He is an absolute lover of people and melts hearts everywhere he goes.

Very friendly loves to chase, gentle

We are a family of 4. Our kids are 12 and 9 and total animal lovers. We have one dog, lots of chickens and a couple of rabbits in our fenced in yard/orchard area. (The chickens and rabbits are kept away from the dog). Ollie joined our family in October (2023) as a one 1/2 year old puppy. He’s still a very active puppy and loves long walks/runs and playing fetch with toys and sticks. His recall is decent, good with minimal distraction. Leash manners are still a work in progress.
